Yet another requested update

Ok, you people seem to think my life is interesting enough to read about (poor you) so here we go with another update.

1) Nadia and becca were right. Chucks are overpriced, I found knockoffs for like fifteen bucks the other day (though i still didnt buy them).

2) I had a great shift at OP today, all my guys just worked really well and I was out of there before midnight, which is great for me.

3) 2 days off, w00t!

4) I need to wax my ass

5) I got some cool Ipod accessories. (its this stereo/radio thing, its totally cool)

6) I was kidding about 4, just checking to see if youre paying attention

7) Chinese Lantern festival seems interesting though overpriced, but i have only been able to see a small bit.

8) Olga is a really cool person.

9) I need to buy a new Snoopy tshirt, or maybe even 2.

10) Theres more, but nows not the time to talk about it, ill post when i know what the hell is going on myself.

This is 40

Wow, 40th post of nothingness. I suppose I should do something special, but I'm not going to. I'm a rebel like that.

So, Ontario Place is starting to get physically draining. It's kind of annoying, I feel like what time I dont spend at work is spent recovering from it. My eating schedule has gone to shit (dinner at 1:30 am anyone?) as has my exercise plan (which is now nonexistant.)

I guess the biggest plus of the job is the totally rad people that I have met at work. A fellow coworker put it best when he said something along the lines of the fact that normally, we would not be a group of people that would get along. Its pretty rad though, because I am getting along with pretty much everyone, so Im not at all complaining.

2 Days Off!

I have 2 days off of work, and its wierd bc i actually miss it. The transition has actually been going fairly well so far, and best i can tell no one really hates me.

So I nixed the MP3 player for the time being. I cant really justify spending $100 on anything other than a guitar right now. I should be saving my money for school (which I have been doing fairly well so far.)

Ooh, I found these great hand exerciser things that i can use to build strength and dexterity in my fingers (for guitar playing obviously). My aunt bought them for my grandparents when she was in Japan, like, 15 years ago. They got boxed away with everything else when my grandmother died, and my mom just found them yesterday.

Somethinorother

Day 5 of 6 days straigt at work. I am so fucking tired. Like, fall asleep on the GO train tired, which I normally never do. I never imagined the sheer volume of shit that I would have to be dealing with in this job. Thankfully I have a bunch of returning staff in tmrw, so my day should be relatively stress free. How the hell do people simply NOT learn the basic operating procedures of your job? BC Im still training staff who were hired the same time i was, its just plain dumb. And im pretty sure the buisness office at OP specifically hires people who are incapable of smiling or laughing, bc they are generally really boring people.

I've been writing a lot lately. Its kind of wierd because it seems to come in waves. I'll go months on end without putting pen to paper, and then all of a sudden im hit with a deluge of ideas that leaves me spending the majority of my free time with a notebook in front of me.

Im tempted to take about 100 bucks out of my guitar fund and put it towards an MP3 player, simply bc I spend anywhere from 2 to 3 hours in transit when im working, and looping one CD in my Discman just isnt cutting it. Chris is being totally wicked awesome about not pressuring me at all to buy the guitar. Imean, I really want it, ive played similar models and i love them, but getting the money together has taken longer than i thought.

God I miss the glendon folk.

Update, as per request

Here's a quick update, for the benifit of the few who care.

1) I got the promotion/new job at Ontario Place. I am happy. Its going to be more money and more hours and therefore less financial burden on my parents and whatnot. Good times.

2) My brother quit his band, and got (rented for 2 months to be specific) his own guitar and amp in a period of less than 24 hours. Im quite proud of him.

3) I hate most clothing stores. Its discouraging.

4) I just spent nearly 40 dollars on CDs, though I am happy. Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and Bob Marley are well worth the money.

5) My neck is itchy.

6) I work for 5 days straight beginning tmrw. Fun fun.

Cheers

Joe

Many Things A Happenin'

Sooo,

I had my Cinesphere Team Leader interview today. I'm not sure what to think. I honestly think I put my best effort forward, but I really could not read the two people interviewing me at all. I just have to sit and wait.

My room seems to attract insects and arachnids. Im pretty sure I've found every type of fly, spider, centipede and june bug in my room over the last few months. I even found a beetle last night, it was sitting on my lampshade. Ringo says hi. hehe.

Hrm, what else. Ive reaffirmed, by way of the job interview, that I hate formal clothing. I did the shirt, tie and dresspants ensemble today, and I was CRAZY uncomfortable. Gimmie my tshirts and jeans anyday.

There's a video of BB King and Eric Clapton playing "The Thrill Is Gone." It's pretty damn profound if you ask me, and I definitely had one of those moments when, musically, my perspective changes. I dunno if it is different because I actually am a (sort of) musician, but I occasionally have these moments where something changes my perspective on how I perceive music, and consequently my role playing music. I've only had 4 such moments that I remember: the first was when my father played a Rush record for me. I was 6 or so, and it was the first "real music" that I heard. The next was the first time that I heard a live version of U2's "Where the streets have no name." I cant exactly explain what happened, but there is something incredibly powerful, maybe even spiritual, when that intro is played live, at least IMO. The third was when I heard Mikey/Now Yr Taken live for the first time. It really opened my eyes to a completely new approach to music. The 4th happened today. It will be interesting to see where this takes me.

Oh, and my mom bought these really cool german beer glasses the other day. I swear, they make the beer taste better!
